The Channel Freeway is a flexible Time Division Multiplexer (TDM) that combines the functions of an integrated voice and data multiplexer and an intelligent channel bank with sixty (60) DS-0 voice and data channels, E1/T1 and ISDN interfaces with signaling and super-rate conversion, which can offer leased line services from subrate to 2Mbps (N x 56/64Kbps).
The Channel Freeway accommodates network evolution and protects investment by providing customers a means of integrating legacy services and broadband networks. It is ideal for access networks that support multiple TDM services including the leased line, legacy voice and data, as to concentrate circuit switched and fiber optic based voice and data traffic. The switching matrix is fully interconnected and non blocking, and can be used as standalone or scaled to 660 subscribers per rack.
The Channel Freeway’s Window based GUI and SNMP makes easy and efficient to install and mange network. The reliability of the Channel Freeway is guaranteed by redundancy of the power supplies and optical interfaces and control. The switch supports a full spectrum of fault management features including connectivity verification, performance monitoring and test connections. In addition, the Channel Freeway supports standard synchronization sources such as G.703 2,048 kbps sychronization interface, line time synchronization from interface cards, as well as line trunking.
